LEXICO-SEMANTIC ANALYSIS OF ANTITHESIS IN W. SHAKESPEARE'S SONNETS

Abstract

In the article the generalized-typified means of the realization of one of the basic ways of speech expansion - contrast associating - antithesis method is researched. The lexico-semantic analysis of the antithetic statements in W. Shakespeare's sonnets, based on the classification of the quantitative relation of oppositions in a phrase and the semantic-morphological analysis of antonymous pairs is carried out. In the article the contrast and opposition in the contents and poetic form of sonnets are justified and the conclusion is made about the quantitative use and the lexico-semantic structural form of antithesis in W. Shakespeare's sonnets.
