INVECTIVE LEXICAL UNITS OF GENERAL CHARACTER (ON THE MATERIAL OF THE PYRENEAN NATIONAL VARIANT OF THE SPANISH LANGUAGE AND THE AMERICAN NATIONAL VARIANT OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE)

Abstract

In the article the invective lexical units of general character in the Pyrenean national variant of the Spanish language and the American national variant of the English language are considered. On the basis of facts the author demonstrates the domination of the connotative component over the denotative one in the semantics of invective vocabulary.
