V. G. BELINSKII ABOUT E. BULWER-LYTTON'S NOVEL THE PILGRIMS OF THE RHINE

Abstract

The author considers the perception of the creative works of the English writer E. Bulwer-Lytton by V. G. Belinskii and makes the conclusion that vividly expressed romantic orientation of Bulwer-Lytton's compositions and also their belonging to mass literature led to their disapproval during the 40s of the XIXth century on the basis of the reviews of the Russian critic about the novel The Pilgrims of the Rhine.
