BITTER END OF SWEET FAIRY TALE

Abstract

The author reveals the originality of the conception of the novel “A Fairy Tale of New York” by J. P. Dunleavy, traces the dynamics of the U.S. criticism attitude to Dunleavy’s creative works, considers the stylistic, narrative, composition features of the work, its figurative structure and the specificity of artistic space, and interprets the novel within the framework of the American literary tradition and the literature of postmodernism.
