ROLE OF COGNITIVE MECHANISMS IN CREATING HUMOROUS EFFECT

Abstract

This article attempts to summarize the cognitive approaches to the study of humor and to describe the mechanisms of creating a humorous effect. The author concludes that such mental structures as scripts and schemes involved in the process of jokes interpretation are part of the process of conceptual integration that is activated by certain language means in the introductory spaces along with other elements.
