MOTIVE OF TRAVEL IN THE NOVEL BY PETER CORNELL “THE WAYS TO PARADISE: COMMENTARIES TO THE LOST MANUSCRIPT”

Abstract

The article considers the motive of travel in the novel by the Swedish writer Peter Cornell “The Ways to Paradise: Commentaries to the Lost Manuscript” (1989) as a structure-forming element of the narration and a sphere of images and meanings associated with it; the author identifies accompanying motives, analyzes how this motive, along with the genre form of the literary work and the title, serve the realization of the idea of the novel. The analysis of the motive also allows concluding on the artistic space of the novel organized around the sacral center.
