NAMES OF RELIGIOUS HOLIDAYS ACCORDING TO THE EXPERIMENTAL DATA AND THESAURI

Abstract

The article deals with the names of religious holidays according to the data of thesauri and the experiment conducted among the informants-native Russian speakers to identify the topical lexemes fixed in the minds of native speakers of Russian. As a result of the performed experiment the author singles out the following lexical units which contain the religious component of the names of the holidays fixed in the minds of native speakers of the Russian language: Whitsunday, Shrovetide, Easter, Christmas, and Epiphany.
