COMMUNICATIVE SENTENCE PERSPECTIVE AND THE GIVEN/NEW AGREEMENT

Abstract

In the article, the communicative sentence perspective is cognitively considered in the framework of the given/new agreement. The author argues that the relationship of given and new is based on the human ability to organize his or her linguistic knowledge of the world as gestalts and configure this knowledge in the course of communication.
