PROTECTIVE SIGNS IN LINGUO-SEMIOTICS OF EDUCATIONAL DISCOURSE

Abstract

The article is devoted to the consideration of protective signs in the linguo-semiotics of educational discourse. Esoterica is an aggregate of phenomena that are inaccessible for rational analysis by the man whereupon various kinds of superstition appear. In this work the author tackles the superstitions of the British pupils, which perform a function of the student’s protection from a bad mark or the teacher’s punishment. On the basis of the conclusions the typology of the school protectives of educational discourse including superstitious artifacts, gluttonyms, anthroponyms, zoonyms, somatic signs, coloronyms, numeronyms, and ritual signs is presented.
