Abstract

In the article the basic characteristics of the academic scholar’s speech in the Russian pre-revolutionary parliament are revealed. By the example of A. A. Shakhmatov’s speech in the Council of State the main techniques and means of speech influence on audience originating from academic rhetoric are shown. The impact of academic rhetoric on the formation of the Russian parliamentary eloquence of the beginning of the XX century is considered. In the paper the extracts of the speech by the academician A. A. Shakhmatov in the Council of State are published and analyzed for the first time.
