A LETTER-INVECTIVE AS A GENRE VARIETY OF “A LETTER TO THE TSAR”

Abstract

By the material of the Russian literature of the XIX-XX centuries the article suggests emphasizing a special epistolary genre - the genre of “a letter to a ruler”, represented by two invariants - “a letter to a tsar” and “a letter to a leader”, the definition of such subvariety of a genre as a letter-invective is given. Then the analysis of a concrete material - letters-invectives to the tsar by M. Tsebrikova and V. Korolenko, is conducted. As a result preliminary conclusions concerning the functioning of this genre subvariety in the history of the Russian literature are made.
