THE TELEUT LANGUAGE: THE MELODY OF UTTERANCES
Abstract
The article examines the intonation of the utterances of the Teleut language in comparison with the intonation of the Turkic languages of Southern Siberia (the Khakass one and the Telengit dialect of the Altai one) and other regions (the Tatar and the Yakut ones). Typologically similar features were revealed and also the peculiarities were found out that express its uniqueness according to the theory on the articulation-acoustic basis of the ethnos, under which substrate features are manifested as distinctive indications against the background of general ones belonging to cognate languages.
