CULTURAL-HISTORICAL CHRONOTOPE IN THE NOVEL “NOONDAY DEMON OR THE LIFE AND ADVENTURES OF JOHN POLOVINKIN” BY PAVEL BASINSKY

Abstract

Chronotope is an integral characteristic of works of art. This article considers the cultural-historical chronotope in the novel of the famous Russian writer Pavel Basinsky “Noonday Demon, or the Life and Adventures of John Polovinkin”. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of anthroponyms and toponyms as specific means of the cultural-historical chronotope representation. This analysis allows highlighting the basic meaning dominants of the novel.
