MODEL OF THE RELATIONSHIP OF MEN AND WOMEN IN "MORPHO EUGENIA» BY A. S. BYATT

Abstract

The article reveals the system of the relationships of men and women in A. S. Byatt’s work "Morpho Eugenia", in which there are three models that can be divided both locally and in accordance with the psychological age of the character. The first one can be described as a youthful freedom and irresponsibility. It is presented retrospectively and localized in the Amazon forests, the second one is a "Victorian marriage" based on particular benefits and localized in England, and finally, responsible partnership, involving the free movement all over the world.
