TAMBOV IN V. M. SHUKSHIN’S ARTISTIC GEOGRAPHY

Abstract

The article discusses the semantic halo of Tambov in V. M. Shukshin’s creative work connected with the facts of the writer's biography. Tambov region is represented as the centre of the traditional Russian national character and space of unrealized opportunities. The town confirms its status formulated by Mikhail Lermontov - the existence in potency, little by little. The authors also mention other towns that can make an alternative literary map of the writer’s creativity.
