ON THE COGNITIVE-SEMANTIC STRUCTURE OF AN EVENT

Abstract

The article discusses some problems of structuring events that embody the mental representations of real world situations. It defines the basic components of the event; their selective capabilities when generating sentences are investigated. The main reasons for the emergence of seriation of the English verb are revealed while carrying out the analysis of the structure of the events from the cognitive positions. The work focuses on the role of valence while developing polysemy of the verbs and appearing expressive meaning.
