EVOLUTION OF PROTOTYPE THEORY IN LINGUISTICS

Abstract

The article presents a brief overview of the theoretical base behind the linguistic conception of prototypes from a diachronic point of view. The paper examines and analyses key notions and terms applied in the complementary disciplines concerned with working out the prototype theory in the light of cognitive studies, psychophysiological and philosophic sciences.
