YAKUT DESCRIPTIVE PERSONAL NAMES IN THE XVII-XVIII CENTURIES

Abstract

The article analyzes the Yakut descriptive personal names, which were used by the Yakuts in the XVII-XVIII centuries, i.e. before the adoption of Orthodox Christianity. The authors substantiate that personal names are one of the most conservative parts of the lexicon and have unique information of not only linguistic, but also historical, ethnographic, and cultural plans. The people represent in them not only material and spiritual culture, but also the vision of the world and cognition.
