WORD-FORMATIVE ACTIVITY OF PREFIXES AND SEMI-PREFIXES OF COLLOQUIAL VERBS IN EVERYDAY SPEECH (BY THE MATERIAL OF GERMAN AND ENGLISH LANGUAGES)
Abstract
The article considers “word-formative activity” of prefixes and semi-prefixes in the German and English languages, identifies the most productive word-formative models of colloquial verbs in everyday English and German. The paper provides quantitative analysis of prefix and semi-prefix frequency, thereby the author introduces structural-semantic classification of neologisms in the colloquial speech.
