ARTIST’S IMAGE IN THE PLAY “WOUNDED AUROCH” BY I. MAMMEEV

Abstract

For the first time in the Balkarian literary criticism the paper examines the conception of artist’s image, discovers the essence of the main personage of K. Mechiev’s drama as a national spiritual leader, a struggler for justice; the paper shows the role of an artist-creator, a generator of humanistic ideas in the process of transforming customs and morals and national self-consciousness. After analyzing hero’s confrontation with the opponents the researcher identifies the basic backgrounds for creating remarkable personality’s image, which accumulates the dramatic nature of an epoch. The study focuses on the aspects associated with the actualization of the problem of a personality in the history, an individual in the society.
