MEANS TO FORM NOMINAL COMPOUNDS WITH NUMERALS IN THE KABARDINO-CIRCASSIAN LANGUAGE

Abstract

The article analyzes the basic means to form nominal compounds with numerals in the Kabardino-Circassian language. Such models can be two-component and three-component. Reduplication is a rather productive means to form the compounds of the mentioned type. The author identifies specific means to form numerals in the language under study. The analysis of factual material indicates the frequent cases of preserving the etymological meaning of the combined bases and the semantic shifts promoting the broadening of the synonymic lines of the analyzed language.
