Realization of Post-Modernist Concepts (BODY WITHOUT ORGANS, SKIN, SCREEN) in W. Burroughs’s Novel “The Ticket That Exploded”

Abstract

The article considers the peculiarities of W. Burroughs’s poetics from the viewpoint of post-modernist philosophy by the example of the novel “The Ticket That Exploded”. Post-modernist concepts BODY WITHOUT ORGANS, SKIN, SCREEN are examined taking into account their artistic implementation in the novel. The researchers analyse the novel’s post-modernist features (images, motives, important stylistic peculiarities) and propose a hypothesis that W. Burroughs’s creative work is based on post-modernist philosophy.
