G. Flaubert’s Religious and Philosophical Conceptual Sphere

Abstract

The research objectives are as follows: to reveal specificity of lexical explication of G. Flaubert’s religious and philosophical conceptual sphere, to identify figurative-metaphorical means of concepts representation. Scientific originality of the study lies in the fact that moral and value concepts in G. Flaubert’s creative work are for the first time described within the framework of the cognitive metaphor theory. The research findings are as follows: the author reveals specificity of lexical explication of the macro-concept LA VÉRITÉ (TRUTH) and related concepts. Using semantic-cognitive and conceptual analysis methods, the researcher examines metaphorical and lexical figurative means of concepts verbalization.
