Implementation of the Dynamics Category in the Online Newspaper Text (by the Material of Web Versions of English-Language Newspapers)

Abstract

The research aims to identify features and ways of implementing the dynamics of a newspaper article on the Internet. The work examines the specifics and ways of creating dynamism in this type of text that are characteristic of both a traditional print news article and news published by online media, as well as new opportunities for the implementation of this category due to the acquisition by the newspaper text of properties peculiar to online media discourse and Internet discourse in general. Scientific novelty lies in the fact that the analysis of the dynamic properties of texts belonging to the considered genre was carried out taking into account the tendency to narrativise news material, for which reason the approach to studying the dynamics of a text adopted in narratology was used; in addition, the author proposed a broader understanding of dynamism, which includes not only dynamics that conforms to the plot, but also the kind that goes beyond it. As a result of the research, specific features and types of online news dynamics, as well as ways and means of its implementation have been described.
