The Role of Term-Formation Elements of Latin Origin in the Formation of the French Terminological System of Electric Vehicle Construction

Abstract

The aim of the study is to determine the role of the Latin morphemes and lexemes in the formation of electric vehicle terms in French. The article characterises the factors influencing the formation of the terminological system; describes the structural features of the term; provides the lexical and semantic characteristics of the terminological system; and analyses the productive ways of terms formation using the elements of the Latin language. The scientific novelty of the work lies in determining the relevant factors and features of the formation of a new terminological system and its elements. As a result, it has been found that the elements of the Latin language are actively used in the creation of terms under the influence of a number of factors.
