Abstract

The article analyzes Alexander Vasilyevich Kubasov’s monograph, which represents the culminating work of one of Russia’s leading Chekhov scholars and incorporates the results of more than thirty years of research into the poetics of Chekhov’s prose. It is traced how the scholar develops his concept by turning to the biographical and literary contexts, as well as to the intertextuality of Chekhov’s works.
