MARO MARKARYAN'S POETRY IN M. SINEL'NIKOV'S TRANSLATION HERITAGE

Abstract

The article is devoted to the coverage of the translation principles of the Russian poet Mikhail Sinel'nikov who made great contribution to the development of Russian-Armenian literary interconnections. Maro Markaryan's poetry was the measure of moral and spiritual purity for M. Sinel'nikov. Her images of mother-land and nature were the symbols of her lyrics which helped to place Maro Markaryan among the best poets of the ХХth century. M. Sinel'nikov's translations from Maro Markaryan's poetry are few but in them the translator revealed the psychology and world outlook of the Armenian poetess infinitely loving her country. Getting the feel of Maro Markaryan's poetry M. Sinel'nikov was able to recreate the large scale of the poetess's thoughts and feelings revealing her deep inner world. M. Sinel'nikov's poetical taste and word culture reflected in all his translations which were the stable foundation for his translation activity and presented the examples of the highest poetry which can be compared with the originals as the equals.
