LEXICAL-SEMANTIC ANALYSIS OF ENGLISH AND RUSSIAN PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS (PROVERBS) EXPRESSING ATTITUDE TO LABOR, WORK, AND BUSINESS
Abstract
The article is devoted to the lexical-semantic analysis of English and Russian proverbs expressing the attitude of English and Russian people to labor, work, and business. The goal of the article is to show how the lexical-semantic differences of English and Russian proverbs influence the inadequacy of the expression of phraseological image, phraseological meaning and expressive-estimating connotations. The author also reveals paradigmatic relations in proverbs sphere, particularly synonymy phenomena, which promotes more accurate expression of natural-cultural specificity and English and Russian people's mentality.
