GENRE FEATURES OF ORAL TALES ABOUT MERCHANTS

Abstract

The author considers modern oral tales about merchants, prevailing in Elabuga region of the Republic of Tatarstan, reveals their genre specificity, presents the thematic classification, determines style features, tells that these tales are significant due to considerable potential in the historical reconstruction of persons and events of this region, and also mentions that they reflect the general tendencies of national literature – that is to go from one-sided view of the past, to perceive and evaluate everything from the perspective of truth, goodness and beauty.
