CORPORATE-SUBCULTURAL DIFFERENTIATION OF ANGLOPHONE AFRICAN ETHNIC SOCIOLECTISMS

Abstract

The author presents the analysis results of the corporate-subcultural features of Anglophone African ethnic sociolectisms usage, basing on the publications materials of E. Partridge’s dictionary “A Dictionary of Slang and Unconventional English” (1937, 1984) suggests the classification of the national-areal versions of Anglophone African ethnic sublanguage, in which ethnic sociolectisms are allocated according to substandard ethnic vocabulary and repertoires, serving for social-verbal communication in three main corporate ethnic cultures – a) the vocabulary of Black ethnic culture, b) the vocabulary of White communicants with its targeting to Black ethnic socium, and c) “Black-themed” vocabulary of White ethnic subculture without its targeting to Black ethnic socium; and concludes that the further analysis in view of areal allows revealing a greater number of areal-ethnic subculture versions.
