NARRATOR’S AND READER’S TIME IN STORY “WAVES EXTINGUISH WIND” BY STRUGATSKII BROTHERS
Abstract
The author considers the story “Waves Extinguish Wind” by Strugatskii brothers, which is the final in the cycle “Noon Universe”, pays special attention to the genre features of the work (the original combination of a detective story, science fiction and memoirs), which are revealed through the analysis of narrative structures (primarily through the correlation of narrator’s and reader’s time), and tells that this article allows demonstrating the significant complication of artistic forms, typical to the final stage of Strugatskii brothers’ creative works.
