COMBINATORICS OF LANGUAGE MEANS IN EXPRESSING ENVY AND JEALOUSY (BY THE MATERIAL OF THE ENGLISH COLLOQUIAL SPEECH)

Abstract

The author analyzes the combination of different language means in the acts of expressing envy and jealousy, determines the role of these means in the process of communication, their dependence on pragma-linguistic conditions of a dialogue, shows the combinatorics of language means by the examples of literary texts from British and American authors’ works, and pays special attention to those language means that contribute to the maximum illocutionary and perlocutionary effects of speaker’s emotional state in the speech act of expressing envy and jealousy.
