ON PRINCIPLES OF IMPERSONAL FORMS DIVISION IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

Abstract

The article is devoted to the division of impersonal forms of the English verb having the same morphological marker -ing, but different cognitive-pragmatic component related to the degree of nominalization, contained in their semantics. The analysis shows that a verbal noun and a gerund take the top positions in this scale, and participles, which act as a condenser providing the compression of deep subordinate clause or as part of the analytical form of a verb, – the lower ones.
