LINGUISTIC ANALYSIS OF H. HEINE’S POEM «DIE ROSE, DIE LILIE, DIE TAUBE, DIE SONNE» TRANSLATED BY A. A. FET

Abstract

The article analyzes H. Heine’s poem «Die Rose, die Lilie, die Taube, die Sonne» translated by A. A. Fet. The choice of this poem is conditioned by the fact that it is one of the most important cycles of “The Book of Songs”, “Lyrical Intermezzo” and by its example one can see the difference in the perceptions of the world by the poet and the translator. The purpose of the analysis is the the determination of weak and strong points in A. A. Fet’s translation. Linguistic analysis is based on the accuracy of the reproduction of semantic, graphic, sound, structural and other content of the original. The personality of a translator is of great importance in translation. The analysis concludes that A. A. Fet’s translation is not close enough to the original.
