THE DEAD FEEL NO PAIN" BY V. V. BYKOV: PECULIARITY OF EPIC CONFLICT

Abstract

The article presents the analysis of one of the key military works by V. Bykov - the short novel "The Dead Feel No Pain". The vision of the epic conflict that defined its plotline and the system of characters is made more precise. The conceptual structure of the short novel is conceived on the basis of breach between the Word (order) and Deed (implementation). The uniqueness of artistic-narrative approaches suggested by the author is associated with the image of Sakhno and the compositional and story motives of temptation and test of power under the conditions of war and peace.
