PAROEMIOLOGICAL UNITS USED BY BENJAMIN FRANKLIN AND THEIR CORRELATIONS IN THE RUSSIAN LANGUAGE

Abstract

The article is dedicated to investigating the role of paroemiological units represented in the paper by Benjamin Franklin “Poor Richard’s Almanack”, in the paramiology of the American variant of English. Comparative analysis of the above-mentioned paroemiological units and their correlations in the Russian language testifies for the presence of a small quantity of complete equivalents of the investigated units in the Russian language. An essential part of interlingual correlations in the analyzed languages is constituted by partial equivalents. This circumstance is conditioned by a number of linguistic and extra-linguistic factors.
