RUSSIAN WAR NARRATIVE: BETWEEN FACTUAL ACCOUNT AND SYMBOLOGY

Abstract

The article suggests a solution of the theoretical-literary problem connected with the priorities, possibilities and boundaries of the domestic war epic-prosaic tradition. On the basis of four criteria (space, time, action and subject) the author introduces a hypothesis about the two basic frameworks of this tradition - narrations about civil and world wars and about the commitment of the Russian prose to the former of the mentioned types.
