JUDAS ISCARIOT BY LEONID ANDREYEV AS “UNDERGROUND PERSON” OF SILVER AGE
Abstract
In the article the attempt is undertaken to reveal the deep relationship of such literary heroes as Underground Person by F. M. Dostoyevsky and Judas Iscariot by L. N. Andreyev. Special attention is given to the following aspects of these heroes’ personalities: attitude towards other people, thirst for power and self-affirmation. On the basis of these similarities it is possible to conclude that both these heroes belong to one and the same literary type of “underground person”.
