GROTESQUE METAMORPHOSES IN THE POETICS OF V. V. MAYAKOVSKY'S COMEDY "THE BEDBUG"

Abstract

The article is devoted to the problem of actualization in V. V. Mayakovsky's comedy "The Bedbug" of such code of poetics of grotesque as a "metamorphosis" or transformation. Organizing the plot of the play transformations of its characters occur in accordance with the aesthetics of grotesque realism but at the same time they meet the artistic goals of the playwright which are denunciation of petty bourgeois everyday life and objectification, anticipation of coming changes, embodiment of tragic discrepancy between the ideals of revolutionary struggle and reality reflected in the play.
