INTERPRETATION OF FOLK LEGENDS IN THE MODERN AVARIAN POETRY (BY THE EXAMPLE OF THE POEMS OF TUBKHAT ZURGALOVA AND AISHAT MALACHIEVA)

Abstract

The article by the material of the poems of the modern Avarian poetesses Tubkhat Zurgalova and Aishat Malachieva analyzes the author’s original interpretation of the folk legends associated with the local toponyms and representing the cultural heritage of the Avarian people. The authors are united by the motive of unrequited love of the personages which conditions the tragedy of their destiny. T. Zurgalova opposes the natural power to the incompatible love of her characters, A. Malachieva draws a parallel between the world of fantasy and historical fact preserved in the folk toponym.
