VERBAL MEANING OF LEXEME TRADITION IN THE BRITISH NATIONAL CORPUS

Abstract

The article analyzes the linguistic units, in particular the lexeme tradition, using the corpus technologies that correspond to a new cognitive-communicative paradigm. As a result of the research the meanings of the word tradition are defined, and the knowledge of the conditions of its use is systematized by analyzing the examples recorded in the British National Corpus; its meanings in the official dictionaries of the English language are described and compared, and it becomes the basis for the structuring of values ​​in the minds of the British.
