DISTRIBUTION OF PALATALIZED SONORANTS IN LEARNED IRISH

Abstract

The article considers the problem of sonorants palatalization in the speech of the Irish language speakers where this language is a second one, and an attempt is made to reveal and describe the main features of their distribution. In such a speech there are deviations in the distribution of certain sounds, where those palatalized and non-palatalized consonants are of particular interest that can occur in the positions where the presence or absence of palatalization is necessary to distinguish the forms of words or the whole words.
