PHONOLOGICAL AND ORTHOGRAPHIC PECULIARITIES OF BRITISH NAMES IN THE CAMEROONIAN VARIANT OF ENGLISH

Abstract

The article examines the studies of British names in Cameroon in relation to the practice of cross-cultural interaction. Orthography of British names and their pronunciation differ from the original (BrE) which is a reason for transforming British names and forming their new equivalents in the Cameroonian English. Such use of British names is a unique all around the world, and it is one of the distinctive features of the Cameroonian.
