VIEW OF NARRATION IN THE HISTORICAL AND FANTASY NOVEL BY L. PERUTZ “THE MARQUIS OF BOLIBAR”

Abstract

The article examines the specifics of narrative technique in the fantasy novel “The Marquis of Bolibar“ by the Austrian writer Leo Perutz (1882-1957). Ambiguities of perception, hesitations in the choice of explanation - real or supernatural - are one of the basic conditions of a fantasy text. View of narration is a factor determining ambiguity of reader’s perception.
