PHONOLOGICAL PRINCIPLE IN EXEMPLIFICATION OF KINSHIP SYSTEMS IN THE ANGLO-SAXON SOCIETY AND THE OLD ENGLISH LANGUAGE

Abstract

The article considers the use of a phonological principle in studying the kinship systems and in the analysis of their denominations. The application of a phonological principle becomes possible with the close relationship of such human sciences as linguistics and sociology, which helps the author to consider the nomenclature of kinship systemically, to trace the reconstruction of kinship relations and the evolution of kinship terms by the examples of monuments from the Old English literature.
