LEXICAL AND GRAMMATICAL MEANS OF REALIZATION OF DISTANCING POLITENESS STRATEGIES IN THE ENGLISH COMMUNICATIVE CULTURE

Abstract

The article deals with the lexical and grammatical means associated with the category of modality which plays an important role in realization of the strategies of distancing politeness. The speech units by means of which the same communicative intention can be expressed are considered, as well as the examples of the distancing politeness strategies that determine the peculiarities of the English communicative behavior are presented.
