STRATEGIES OF EDUCATIONAL LISTENING

Abstract

The article examines the strategies to acquire listening skills and abilities based on the mechanisms of aural reception. Analysis of the results of interviewing students on the frequency of use of listening strategies at the different stages of a job leads to the conclusion that the process of perception and understanding of a sound message occurs in accordance with the compensatory model which presupposes simultaneous use of the two approaches - “downward” and “upward”.
