ALLUSIONS IN R. BRAUTIGAN’S NOVEL “SO THE WIND WILL NOT BLOW IT ALL AWAY”

Abstract

The article analyzes the allusions in the novel by the American author, representative of beat generation R. Brautigan “So the Wind Will not Blow It All Away”. The novel contains a great number of allusions to the important historical and social events of the United States. Through the use of allusions, the author not only reveals the main important historical events of the USA, but also encloses in them important social-cultural information required for better understanding of linguistic and cultural aspects of the country.
