AXIOLOGIZATION OF THE TOPONYMIC NOTION “EUROPEAN” IN THE BRITISH POLITICAL DISCOURSE
Abstract
In the article the critical discourse analysis of the peculiarities of using the toponymic notion “European” in the British political discourse is carried out. In the speeches of the British politicians this neutral-valuation notion is transformed into the culturally and ideologically significant axiological concept which actualizes such universally recognized values as freedom, democracy, equality, solidarity, law and order, and security.
