ECONOMIC AND FAMILY RELATIONS IN THE CONCEPTUAL SYSTEM OF HOUSE BUILDING IN THE INSTRUCTIVE TEXTS OF THE RUSSIAN ORTHODOXY OF XI-XIX CENTURIES (BY THE EXAMPLE OF “THE DOMOSTROY”)

Abstract

In the article the approaches, connected with the reflection of economic and family relations in the conceptual system of house building, original domestic formation, coming to until present in the instructive texts of the Russian Orthodoxy of XI-XIX centuries, are examined. The medieval work “The Domostroy” is used as information data of the study. The materials of monograph and dissertation researches of national writers of pre-revolutionary and modern periods are used extensively while conducting the analysis. The main norms of house building in Ancient Rus’ in the area of the economy of household and family interrelations are analyzed on the basis of historical materials “The Domostroy”. The author points at the necessity of careful and all-round study of the historical heritage of “The Domostroy”, and also the possibility of a practical application of its main approaches with a certain contemporary transformation aimed at the spiritual development of the Russian society.
